It’s baby No. 3 for Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson! The singer and designer announced the happy news yesterday on Instagram with a series of photos that captured her two kids — Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5 — popping black balloons that revealed the gender of the bundle of joy.
“This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” Simpson wrote. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”
Simpson followed up the exciting photos with one of herself, her hands framing a growing baby bump. “My Baby Love,” she wrote.
Just last year, Simpson told Ellen Degeneres she and her former NFL player husband had no plans to have a third child. “We got an IUD, nothing is going to get into that uterus,” she told the talk show host in May 2017. “I have two beautiful children and I’m not having a third. They’re too cute! You can’t top that.”
But in April 2018, Simpson said on “Entertainment Tonight” that she was feeling baby fever, however, an addition to the family of four “would definitely have to be a bit of a miracle.”
She added, “We always practice.”
Then, in May, Simpson chatted with Us Weekly about what she has learned from motherhood. “Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in life,” she said. “Right now my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgment and they’re teaching me so much. These little innocent kids teach me so much about life.”
And it sounds like the Simpson-Johnson household is about to learn a lot more as they prepare to welcome a new little one. Congratulations to the sweet family!
