Lego is getting into the spirit of Pride this year by launching its first-ever LGTBQ+ set. Called “Everyone is Awesome,” the set is inspired by the rainbow flag and includes 11 figures, each one a different color and sporting its own hairstyle.
The set goes on sale starting June 1 to mark the beginning of Pride Month.
The official Lego Twitter page shared the news, writing, “We’re super excited to reveal our new set — LEGO Everyone is Awesome! Because we celebrate every LEGO builder.”

In a statement, set designer Matthew Ashton, vice president of design at Lego, said he wanted to create a model that symbolizes inclusivity and “celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love.”
“Everyone is unique, and with a little more love, acceptance and understanding in the world, we can all feel more free to be our true awesome selves,” he said. “This model shows that we care, and that we truly believe ‘Everyone is awesome.'”
On Twitter, Lego confirmed that the company has committed to supporting a number of organizations on an ongoing basis, including the U.K. charity Diversity Role Models, which helps children learn about empathy.
Many Lego fans welcomed the new set on Twitter.
“Representation matters,” wrote Twitter user @sassafrass582. “I’ve got two LGBTQ teenagers. We shall be buying a couple sets.”
Thank you Lego for designing an inclusive set. Representation matters. I've got two LGBTQ teenagers. We shall be buying a couple sets.

The “Everyone is Awesome” Lego set is available from June 1 on Lego.com and in Lego stores for $34.99.
American Girl is another toy brand offering LGBTQ+ representation this year with Kira, the company’s “2021 Girl of the Year.” Kira is a 10-year-old from Michigan committed to conservation action, and her book, “Kira Down Under,” features an LGBTQ+ storyline.
The book sees Kira visiting an animal sanctuary in Australia operated by her great-aunts Mamie and Lynette, who are in a same-sex marriage.
Happy Pride Month!
