It’s no secret I am a bit margarita-obsessed. My plans for this year’s Cinco de Mayo were ready well in advance. I wrote about the drinks here and in this story and this one — oh, and here again. I mean, really, when I have a chance to write about, talk about or (obviously) drink margaritas, I am all in.
And so, when I discovered someone who also clearly loves margaritas merged them with my second favorite thing — cheesecake — I pretty much couldn’t click on the recipe fast enough. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
Judging by the ingredients, this recipe for Margarita Cheesecake is bound to taste just like the drink. Yes, friends, it has tequila! You can find the full recipe on That Skinny Chick Can Bake’s blog.
For this magnificent creation you’ll need vanilla wafers, cream cheese, tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice and zest, sour cream, eggs, sugar and butter. With a 20-minute prep time in the kitchen, the cake can be whipped up pretty quickly, but you will have to bake it for about an hour and chill it for at least four.
If you’re not a cheesecake fan, you might enjoy this No Bake Frozen Margarita Pie from Five Heart Home instead. It calls for salted pretzels, heavy cream, condensed milk, lime juice, tequila and triple sec — among other ingredients.
Or check out these Margarita Bars from Crazy for Crust, which would be perfect to bring to a party. The crust is made of graham cracker crumbs and it also has tequila, although you can swap it with an extra tablespoon of lime or orange juice instead if you wish.
If you’re partial to strawberry margaritas instead, this Easy Strawberry Margarita Dessert from Pillsbury sounds seriously amazing and it has no alcohol, so everyone can enjoy it! Along with frozen concentrated margarita mix, you’ll also need frozen strawberries, condensed milk, whipping cream, butter, sugar and crushed pretzels.
Prep time is only 25 minutes, but you’ll have to freeze it for about three hours. So as with the cheesecake, plan accordingly. Of course, if you don’t want strawberries, you could leave them out and just go with a classic margarita flavor.
