In this 21st Century, fast-paced world, it’s not exactly hard to find something to complain about — even if we later realize it wasn’t exactly worthy of our energy. One complaint I’ve never, ever heard, however? There’s just too much chocolate and peanut butter in my Reese’s Cup!
Sound familiar? Didn’t think so. According to Business Insider, however, Hershey’s will soon start selling a new Reese’s Cup with nearly half as much chocolate and peanut butter. On a call with investors, Hershey’s said the new product will be called Reese’s Thins and will be available in March 2019.
The new, thinner Reese’s Cups will apparently be available in milk- and dark chocolate and are meant to appeal to consumers who want something sweet “with more permissibility,” Michele Buck, Hershey North America’s president, said on the call.
Consider me curious — but skeptical. The thick peanut butter is obviously the best part of a Reese’s Cup, so while I will definitely be trying them, I am not yet convinced.
This is not the only new product Reese’s and Hershey’s has or will be releasing. Last year, the beloved brands unveiled the Reese’s Crunchy Cookie Cup, which is basically a mashup of a Hershey’s Cookies ‘N Cream Bar and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. You can also now find Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios and Reese’s coffee creamer.
Before you can get your hands on Reese’s Thins, however, there will be yet another new product launching in late November: a Hershey bar with Reese’s Pieces inside! And while there’s no peanut butter in these, you can also now find new Hot Cocoa Hershey Kisses filled with marshmallow-flavored cream just in time for the holidays.
Do Reese’s Thins sound like a good idea to you?
